HERE IS HOW YOU CAN GET BACKGROUND INFORMATION ON ANY PERSON OR BUSINESS ENTITY!
YOU DO NOT NEED A PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR LICENSE IF YOU ARE ONLY CHECKING THE PUBLIC RECORDS AS FOLLOWS:
Use Google as your search engine in all the following searches:
1. TO SEE CIVIL AND CRIMINAL COURT AND LAW ENFORCEMENT FILES ON ANY PERSON INCLUDING CHILD SUPPORT, GO TO Google and ask for "search systems" Then choose the State and County and you will see which Courts are online for you to search. Follow the instructions of the online court. Enter the name of the person and you can see if he or she has court cases. If the online court does not let you see the case status and information, you should write down the case name and NUMBER and then call the court to ask permission to see the file in person at the court. In the actual court file, you will find names, addresses, phone numbers, correspondence between the parties and their attorneys and the actual court papers filed with the court. There may be photos and other exhibits also. The online courts are a goldmine for your research! Try to remember if the person ever mentioned he or she lived in another state, another county. ALSO KEEP IN MIND that many names are similar and the file you have located may or may not belong to the person on whom you are seeking information. Your search is easier if the person has an UNUSUAL name.
A: MORE CRIMINAL RECORDS INFORMATION: Go to Google and ask for _________ Department of Corrections. Put the State name in the blank we just gave you. For example, Florida Department of Corrections. When you enter the Corrections website, enter the person's name for ALL offenders database. Also remember to check the "search aliases" box. Describe the person the best you can.
B. IS THE PERSON A CHILD MOLESTER? To search to see if the person, male or female, has a record for abusing children, go to Google, and ask for example: Department of Law Enforcement, and put the STATE. For example, Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Then, search on the website for the list of child molesters.
C. MORE COURT INFORMATION: DEEDS, MORTGAGES, JUDGMENTS: Go to search systems, select the state and county and select Official Records or it may be called Recorded Documents. Enter the name of the person you are seeking information on. Here is where you will see judgments, mortgages, deeds and more. From any of these you may be able to get the actual address of the person.
D. FEDERAL COURT INFORMATION, INCLUDING BANKRUPTCY CASES: Go to Google and ask for "Pacer". Open a Pacer account, it is very cheap, only 7 cents a page, and they mail you your ID. Then you can see Federal cases and bankruptcy cases for all US Federal Courts.
E. HOW TO GET INFORMATION ON WHERE AND WHEN A PERSON DIED AND HIS/HER SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. THE ADDRESS WHERE THEIR LAST SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENT WAS SENT. Go to Google and ask for: Social Security Death Index. For deaths in recent years, there is a monthly fee of $19.95 to get the reports.
F. CHECK ONLINE NEWSPAPERS: Here is an example: Las Vegas Sun. You need the name of the newspaper OR you can simply go to Google and ask for the City or State and put the word newspaper or newspapers. For example: "Nevada newspaper". Then when you are on the site of the newspaper, search for recent news on the person BUT REMEMBER ALSO, to go to the ARCHIVES section of the site and search the newspaper's archives. Most large newspapers have an archives section. Some smaller ones do not yet have an archives section online.
2. HOW TO SEE THE BUSINESS REPUTATION AND LICENSE INFORMATION OF A COMPANY? Go to Better Business Bureau online and ask enter the name of the company or email them for information. You can also go to Google and enter the business name then put the word "complaint". This should tell you if anyone is complaining online about this business. You should also go to Google and ask for search systems. Select the State and County and go to BUSINESS LICENSES. Some counties list by occupation, some also let you see business applications.
3. ASSET SEARCHES: DO YOU NEED TO KNOW IF A PERSON OR BUSINESS OWNS REAL ESTATE, OR WHO ACTUALLY OWNS A PIECE OF REAL ESTATE PROPERTY? WANT TO KNOW WHO REALLY IS YOUR LANDLORD? Go to Google, and ask for "search systems" select the state, then the County, then Property Appraiser. In the property appraiser website, you can search by address or name. Put the address in and you will see the LEGAL owner of the property. THEN, go back and enter the owner's name and you will see all real estate property belonging to this person. Do the same with the name of a corporation. Then, if you want to see a map of the address, enter the address into Google.
4. NEED INFORMATION ON A CORPORATION OR FICTITIOUS NAME? Go to "search systems" and select the State and then go to Corporations. Enter the name of the corporation. If it is a fictitious name, then select the Fictitious Name search section of the Corporation search. This is the method to use to search for information about a daycare service.
If you do not know the name of the corporation, but you know the last name of the person you are checking out, then enter the last name of the person. Often, people name their corporation with their own last name as part of the corporation name: for example: Wexburth Ltd., etc.
If you have the name of the person you are seeking information on, then go to the corporate OFFICER section of the corporations search and enter his/her name. You will see any and all corporations he or she has ever owned. REMEMBER, many names are similar and the person may or may not be the person you are seeking.
Once you see the corporation information, the registered agent MAY be the attorney who formed the corporation, but many times the corporation owner lists him/herself as registered agent. You will see address information. You will see the status of the corporation or fictitious name, for example, if it is active or inactive. If inactive, you will see when it was suspended and the reason.
Next, go to Google and ask it again for "search systems". Select your state and county and go to the Civil Court. Now, search for the name of the business to see if it has been sued.
Has it filed bankruptcy? To learn this: ask Google for Pacer. Sign up for a Pacer account. Then you can see all US bankruptcy cases in complete detail.
5. TO DO A FURTHER CHECK ON A PERSON: To see if there is FAMILY information online, enter into Google the person's name and then "family" for example, BOB JONES FAMILY. Do not forget to try the person's nickname, for example: if his name is Ronald, try Ron, Ronny, Ronnie.
If you have the telephone number of the person, enter that into the Google search box. If you need a telephone number, try AOL white pages or AOL yellow pages. You can enter the person's name in the White pages search and you can search by STATE or by CITY. The same for a business name in AOL yellow pages.
If you have the address of the person or company, enter the address into Google.
If you have the EMAIL address of the person, enter THAT into GOOGLE. If the person has been using this email address on the internet , you will see his/her internet "tracks"" and you can gain a lot of useful inside personal information on the person.
Enter into Google the name of the person and then wwwboard. For example, Bob Jones wwwboard. This technique will tell you if anyone is talking about or has mentioned this person on any message board anywhere on the entire internet.
6. IS MONEY WAITING FOR YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW? To find out if there is money waiting for you from old utility deposits, or other money or property, go to Google and ask for UNCLAIMED PROPERTY DIVISION and your state name.
7. WHAT TO DO IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THE ABOVE INFORMATION? If you do NOT have the name, address or phone number of the person, but YOU DO KNOW what the person does for a living and which city or state the person works in, you can ask Google this way: "carpenter Houston" . WHY? Because that very person may have a website and Google can locate people by keywords leading you to websites that the person you are seeking may be operating.
