Now, here are our personal tips to you:
If you lost your job, I know you are very sad and depressed. My job was phased out on the day my mother died, and I had no other source of income except that job. Your situation cannot be as miserable as what I went through. I somehow got a new job the next week. Here are some things for you to do to survive the loss of your job:
1. Go immediately to apply for food stamps and Medicaid; I know you don't want to, and maybe you will have a new job before you need food assistance and Medicaid, but to be on the safe side and to protect yourself and your family, go immediately to the nearest Food Stamp office; if you qualify for unemployment, go to apply right away. Remember to take your identification and social security card.
2. Try to look on the loss of your job as an OPPORTUNITY to obtain a much better job! I know you don't feel this way, but this is often the result. WHY? BECAUSE YOU HAVE A LOT MORE EXPERIENCE NOW THAN YOU DID WHEN YOU APPLIED FOR THE JOB YOU LOST. Put the accent on your acquired knowledge and experience and look for a BETTER job than the one you had. I see sadly, that sometimes people commit suicide when they lose their jobs. This is how to look at it: THE VERY NEXT DAY AFTER THEY are gone, there could come a telephone call to offer them the best job they ever had, but they are gone. Take courage. Good things will come to you. You do not want to be gone when the really good job offer calls. If you are so depressed that you are considering suicide, then you need to immediately get emotional help. Nothing is worth suicide. Life is always worth living and full of surprises. Often good surprises await you. You need to understand this. Almost always, when a person loses his or her job, A BETTER JOB IS ON THE HORIZON FOR THAT PERSON. We cannot understand why we had to lose a job. But fate or the Creator, I believe it is the Lord, determined that you were not to continue in that job and a better door is going to open for you. At this time, it is probably impossible for you to understand that you were not meant to continue in the old job. You were clinging to it, but it was not good for you. Destiny has a better job for you and if you hang around awhile and have a bit of faith in yourself and in God, YOU WILL SEE THE CORRECT DOOR OPEN FOR YOU and you will be amazed at the good new job. Looking back from that point, you will see why the old job was bad for you. Jerry Springer was Mayor of Cincinnati. He lost that job and I am sure he was devastated and depressed. BUT LOOK what Jerry Springer created: a multi-million dollar TV show. I am sure he never thought he would survive the loss of his job as Mayor, but destiny takes a hand in all our lives. You may not approve of his TV program, but you have to admit, he is a success. I do not know, no one knows, the direction destiny will take you. 3. Take advantage of the free time you have to spend high quality loving time with your friends and family. When you are working, you have LITTLE spare time. Take advantage of it now. Soon enough, you will have a new, more demanding job than before, and less time for friends and family than even before. Concentrate on making the bonds closer with friends and family.
4. Get a little rest. Your old job wore you down, I am sure. That's how it is. You work so hard, you get almost exhausted. Try to go for a walk each day. Try to sleep an extra hour.
5. How to find a new job? Statistics say the best way to get a job is through your friends and acquaintances. Ask them if their company is hiring and if they will be a reference for you.
6. When you GET your new job, start building an internet business in your spare time. An internet business takes maybe up to 3 years to start earning good money, so if you can, start working soon building a commercial website. What should you sell? Sell something that improves other people's lives. Those items will always sell.
7. Remember to take a resume when you go to an interview. Do NOT dress as though you were the boss. Dress like a subordinate. For a man, this means no jacket. Tie is OK, but no jacket. For ladies, NO JACKET. No long manicured nails. Hair neat. Men and women should NOT wear cologne. Take a shower just before going to be interviewed so you smell fresh. Fresh is all you want. Remember to use mouthwash and DO NOT SMOKE or chew gum. Look in the interviewer's eyes. DO NOT TALK more than the interviewer. Know something about the company before you arrive. Get the interviewer's full name and thank him or her for taking the time to interview you. ALSO: Call the next day and thank your interviewer AGAIN and ask him or her to please keep you in mind for a job because you are interested in working for that company. Remember, companies are seeking GOOD EMPLOYEES. Race, creed, weight, age, all go to the side. What they want is a good, dedicated employee. If you have had criminal problems in your past, tell the interviewer and let him or her know that you have changed now and would like a chance to prove it.
